Hoisting and Rigging Refresher

Hoisting & Rigging Refresher January 26th & 28th 2026 from 5pm-9pm

This refresher course is designed for sheet metal workers who already hold a hoisting and rigging qualification and need to update their knowledge of safe lifting practices. The class reviews inspection and proper use of rigging hardware and slings, load weight estimation, center of gravity, hand signals and communication, and basic lift planning with an emphasis on current OSHA/industry best practices. Common field scenarios are discussed to reinforce hazard recognition, safe working loads, and coordination with crane operators and other trades.

The JATC strongly encourages anyone whose rigging qualification is more than five (5) years old to take this course to ensure their skills and decision-making remain current and in line with today’s safety and regulatory standards.
