Steps to Apply

Step 1

Review the Requirements

Before applying, ensure you meet the following criteria:

  • Age: At least 17 years old.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED recommended.
  • Placement Testing: Completion of required placement tests.
  • Physical Capability: Ability to perform the essential functions of the trade.

Step 2

Gather Necessary Documents

  • Final high school transcript or GED certificate.
  • Valid photo identification (e.g., driver’s license).
  • For veterans: submit a copy of your DD214.
  • Additional supporting documents (optional but beneficial):
    • Certifications or specialized training records
    • Resume
    • Letters of recommendation

Complete Online Application​

  • Fill out and submit the online application form.
  • Upon submission, you will receive a confirmation email.

Step 5

STEP 5 SUBMIT DOCUMENTATION

  • All documents must be submitted simultaneously.

Step 6

EXAM AND INTERVIEW PROCESS

  • Qualified applicants will be notified by email of the next entrance exam.
  • Once the exam is completed and scores have been received an interview with the Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC) will be scheduled.

Step 7

Ranking and Acceptance

  • After the interview, applicants are placed on a list and ranked based on exam and interview scores.
  • Ranking letters will be sent within a month after your interview.
  • Accepted candidates will be notified via phone and email.
